Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering at Vellore Engineering College (now Vellore Institute of Technology) India – 1996-2000. Graduated First Class.

  • Led a team that designed and developed a product suite from scratch:  a desktop report viewer, report designer and web reporting portal (www.intelliview.com).
  • Shipped three versions (v1 through v3) of the viewer and 2 versions of the designer.

           Wrote technical specifications for the above products

  • Consulted with CSS Europe’s customers and provided them with technology solutions (2005 to July 2006).

Part of a team to create a Fund Transfer Engine for a Payment Gateway run by a banking major. Was responsible for:

  • Implementing a PKI infrastructure for securing transactions across the bank/customer boundary
  • Implementing data security procedures for data stored internal to the system
  • Participating in internal and external security audits for the entire system

 


 

February 2001 - September 2001

Part of a team that created a Payment Gateway Service in operation the Asia-Pacific region. Was responsible for:

  • Implementing a Digital Signature Management System for ensuring transaction integrity across multiple sites and platforms
  • Participating in internal security audits and walkthroughs

 

June 2000 - February 2001

Part of a team that created an XML application server for PDAs on Solaris. Was responsible for:

  • Inputs to define server concurrency strategy
  • Implemented code for HTTP request processing and Server Concurrency
  • Implement plug-in interfaces to provide hooks for the business layer to function

 

Publications

 

Eliminating Spam: Protocol and Infrastructure Changes. Submitted to the IETF Anti-Spam Research Group, with Karthik Narayanaswami (2003).

Gexui: An Agent Based Distributed Grammatical Expression Gatherer. White paper by Karthik Narayanaswami and Prasenjeet Dutta (2002). This paper was presented upon invitation at the Avalanche 2003 conference in Chennai.

  • Computer Science – algorithm design & analysis, knowledge of several programming environments (C, C++, C#, Java; several scripting environments including Perl and Python, Web and XML technologies).
  • Software Engineering – design and development practices suitable for small and medium teams.
  • Technology Evaluation – Extensive experience in evaluating and determining technical and strategic suitability of PC and Server technologies for future use.
  • Product Design and Prototyping – User Interface Prototyping and Design, scripting languages (Perl, Python), RAD environments (Visual C#, Visual Basic/.NET).
  • Working with Distributed Teams – worked with a distributed team in the United Kingdom, India and Bulgaria to design, build and ship products.
  • Presentation and Writing Skills – wrote technical specifications, proposals and delivered presentations to customers to propose solutions.

  • Eligible to work in the UK up to one year upon completion of Masters Degree (i.e., from September 2007) under the International Graduates Scheme. A work permit is required thereafter.
